About this gift
Western Cider Company's Harrison Rouge is a semi-dry cider made with hand-harvested Harrison and Frequin Rouge apples grown on Western's own orchard in Montana's Bitterroot Valley. This cider combines a French bittersweet cider apple, the Frequin Rouge, with a once forgotten but increasingly remembered American variety - Harrison.
Tasting notes: On the nose this cider will remind many of a French cider as aromatic notes of bittersweet apples, clove, and straw escape the glass. It drinks semi-dry but with bitter and lightly astringent tannins that dry it out further as the sip settles in on the palate. Red apple skins, fruit leather, and a hint of baking spice, followed by citrus peel and subtle notes of honeycomb, lightly floral, and hints of dark cherry skins. The finish is dry with a warming quality to it form the alcohol. Let this one warm up a bit in the glass and it really starts to show off.
About Western Cider Company: Founder Michael Billingsley and his wife Arielle planted a cider apple orchard in 2010 in Montana's Bitterroot Valley - an area with a rich apple history.
