About this gift
Streicker Wines is an artisanal producer located in the Margaret River region of Western Australia, a cool-climate maritime area famous for its refined and structured styles. The estate focuses on small-batch production from specific single-vineyard plots to highlight the diversity of the local microclimates. The "Bridgeland Block" vineyard is situated in the cooler southern sub-region of Margaret River, where refreshing ocean breezes help slow down the ripening process. This extended hang-time allows the grapes to develop deep flavor concentration while retaining a vibrant, natural freshness that is often lost in warmer regions.
The 2014 "Bridgeland Block" Syrah is a beautifully matured example of how well cool-climate Australian Shiraz can evolve over a decade in the bottle. The grapes were harvested at optimal ripeness and fermented using native yeasts, followed by an extensive aging period in French oak barrels. Because the estate avoids aggressive extraction, the wine maintains an elegant and medium-bodied frame rather than a heavy or jammy profile.
