About this gift
Buffalo Trace Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey stands as the ultimate liquid monument to American pioneering history. The whiskey pays direct tribute to the ancient, rugged migratory paths carved out by wild buffalo herds, one of which passed directly through the historic distillery site in Frankfort, Kentucky. This straight bourbon is crafted from the highest quality grains, utilizing the distillery's legendary low-rye Mash Bill Number One. After distillation, the spirit is laid to rest inside new, charred American oak barrels. Kept in century-old brick warehouses, the barrels slowly interact with the changing seasons for many years. This patient, traditional maturation process continues until the distillers declare each batch has reached its absolute peak maturity.
In the glass, the bourbon displays a deep amber color with warm copper edges. The nose reveals a highly complex bouquet, leading with sweet vanilla bean, rich molasses, and a lifting hint of fresh mint. On the palate, the ninety-proof whiskey delivers a wonderfully pleasant, integrated sweetness.
